Year End Update

A quick summary of Dave and Caitlin's 2006...

In the spring we decided to train for a half marathon in San Francisco. By the end of November we had run 2 half marathons and a number of shorter races including a trail race in the Presidio. It has been fun to train together! We were lucky to have Dave's brother-in-law, an experienced runner, come to town with Dave's sister in July to run with us in our first half marathon (truthfully, he ran quite far AHEAD of us). We hope to continue the running in the new year.

Caitlin did quite a bit of London travel for work in the first half of the year. She was lucky to bring her mom to London for a quick 3 day mini-tour and to have Dave there for a few days in June.

We made a lot of short trips during the year, to places like Sedona to visit Caitlin's grandmother, Bend to visit Caitlin's friend Janna and to the east coast for a wedding and new baby viewing. We finally had a REAL vacation after Thanksgiving- a week in Maui that was wonderful. We head to Newfoundland, Canada soon to celebrate Christmas with Dave's family. It will be fun to see everyone there and to be surrounded by Santa believers on Christmas morning.

While our friends continue to expand their families, we made our first move into expanding our real estate investments with the purchase of a home in Bend, OR. We close in January and expect to rent out the house. Caitlin now hopes to see much more of her dear friend Janna and her family who live in Bend.

We also continue to improve our Oakland home. We had the outside house painted during the summer, we put in a new window in our guest bath and we had a few interior rooms painted to brighten things up. We also have a true craftsman front door sitting in the basement...just need to find a contractor to get it installed. With that we will have completed our exterior work for the next few years (we hope). Dave has been hard at work creating a media room in the basement. We may have to up the Netflix orders how that we have such a great place to watch movies!

Caitlin continues to work at her "mobile" start-up, and Dave is still helping to make your shopping experience on the Gap related web sites so much better that you will buy, buy, buy more stuff!

House Painted

Our house has been painted (and you can see a bit of the new roof)! No more white, and you will see that there is a charcoal color in place of the painted fish tiles.
